Genuine original animation production drawing of this classic cartoon character, complete with Certificate of Authenticity. This animation drawing was actually used in the production of an animated cartoon feature, and is one of a kind. Drawing is complete with pegholes, studio numbers and notations. 12 field animation drawing approximately 10 x 12 inches in size and is in fine condition with usual wear and creases expected from a production used drawing. Drawings may be rendered in pencil, pen, ink, coloured pencils, have areas cut, restuck, other drawings applied etc. as part of the animation process and will display any of these in the picture.
This original production animation drawing comes complete with our gallery issued Certificate of Authenticity. If in a high street gallery this would command a price tage of at least £200-£300.
It is common for galleries/specialist dealers themselves to issue certificates of authenticity, as quite often animation art has either not been issued with a certificate due to the run size, it has been lost over the years from passing through collectors hands, or if it never made the studio program and was presented by the studios as gifts to employee's, artwork taken home by workers etc. Therefore please do not be phased by art accompanied by Gallery certificates.

A cel (short for celluloid) is a blank clear plastic sheet used by the studio artist to paint an animated character or object based on the animator's original pencil drawing. The cels are then placed over a background and photographed in sequence to produce an illusion of life in the completed film or cartoon short. Every cel is different but this does not mean that every cel is unique. Often multiple copies of a cel were created by the Inkers as colour models in order to advance their technique and skills.
